>> Living Mirage <<
Everyone’s profession from the outside can be an optical illusion. Days are long and obstacles are plenty, no matter what you do for a living. Living mirage is meant to reflect this illusion.
I used to think there was one way of being the type of artist I wanted to be. I had to be outdoorsy, focused, have ample time to do trips, get inspired, take photos, look my best, paint my best, ALL.THE.TIME. This is just not true anymore. Life throws you curve balls and you have to learn to roll with it. I’m not always focused when I’m working, and I don’t have ample time for adventures and the outdoors, nor do I have the energy to be “on” all the time. In order to visualize long term success, I needed to be motivated by the process itself - not all of the peripheral benefits. Once I started accepting these things, I didn’t feel like I was suffering from some form of imposter syndrome anymore. I love how this piece represents those conflicting blurred lines mixed with clear visuals.
