20” x 30” Acrylic on canvas with frame. Commissioned.
In September of 2021, we woke up at 2am to make it to Moraine lake parking lot in time to watch the sunrise from larch Valley. With coffee in our hands, layers on our bodies and smiles on our faces, we trekked up to the iconic valley way. We were lucky enough to catch the tail end of larch season, and the tree needles were turning a fantastic colour of orange!
The sun started to make its appearance and warm our frigged bodies. The colours of the valley way continued to emerge as the day broke. We explored the valley way, weaving our way through the vibrant trees and discovering a beautiful glacier stream rushing down the valley, making its journey through the rockies. I stood on a rock with my camera in the middle of the stream and felt the rushing water surround me. Click. Photo taken.
I was so excited to be reached out about a commission that was based off of a photo I took. I often forget that photography is another skill of mine, and most of the time my images that I paint are a series of snapshots in my mind.
