Pedley Pass

CA$250.00

10”x 20” Acrylic on gallery canvas. Varnished & ready to hang.

We were deep in the trees during a hike on Pedley pass in the East Kootenays this past summer. There was a smell of pine, leaves and dirt mixed with the cool air provided by the shaded trees on this hot summer day. Our descent on hikes are usually not the moments that we stop to take in the beauty as we have already taken it all in and we’re merely focused on getting down. The sun broke through the trees and a beam of light hit directly on a Red paintbrush wildflower. It stopped us both in our tracks. It felt as though the flower was trying to tell us to take a moment. To slow down. And appreciate the journey along with the destination. It’s simple moments like this that nature compels me to create art.
