This piece was inspired by a photograph from the talented photographer “Eric Sambol”. Something about the bears stare really captured my attention. Its a really sweet, innocent looking bear which is rarely how these beasts are portrayed in the wild. It almost looks like she just woke up from her long winters nap. Spring is here, and the smell of new life is in the air. This piece was created with a series of multiple layers of glazing to create depth and texture within the fur. A very time consuming but awarding technique!
